Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading independent
organisation dedicated to cancer research, funding the work
of over 3,000 scientists, doctors and nurses.
More than one in three of us will develop cancer at some
point in our lives and one in four die from the disease.
Cancer Research UK is funding research into all aspects of
cancer, ranging from understanding the causes and biology
of the disease through to developing new ways to prevent,
diagnose and treat it. We are also investigating ways to
improve the quality of life of cancer patients and support
their families.
We are one of the few independent organisations with the
ability to take pioneering research all the way from the
laboratory to the patient’s bedside.
Thousands of people are alive in Britain today thanks to
progress made in cancer research. Cancer Research
UK’s funds are raised almost entirely through public
donations and fund-raising activities so we rely
overwhelmingly on the support of people like you.
